The temple is closely related to culture, with fusuma paintings by Hasegawa Tohaku and his school, an important cultural property, the “Rissho Ankoku Ron” written by Honami Koetsu, a bell tower remaining from the Edo period, and the tomb of Kouno Umelei, the founder of the Kyoto art world.
In the stone garden of 16 arhats, there is a “Gagyuseki” stone, which was a gift from Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
