Yutaka Ohue (Dyeing Artisan)
In 1973, I began my apprenticeship at a dyeing workshop and became independent in 1976. After gaining independence, I was inspired by the teachings of a master as a craftsman and artist to pursue a unique expression technique that only I could achieve. In 2000, I presented my first work using the “ikemusen” (layered dyeing) technique. Since then, I have consistently continued to create artworks up to the present day.
